Best Speakers

The best speakers for stereo, computer, and home theater systems all possess similar qualities.

If you’re buying a new stereo, you’ll want the best speakers available.  That way you can guarantee rich full sound from the music you love.  Any stereo that can’t provide, just isn’t worth your time.  Speakers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, as well as styles, so that you can find models to suit your décor.  Although the style you choose could dictate the quality of sound your speakers produce.  In most cases, in order to find speakers that match your décor, or that have an antique feel,  you may have to compromise sound quality.  So you’ll find the best speakers are really the model that conforms to your preferences.

That’s one of the first decisions you should come to, in terms of speaker quality.  Usually the best come in more modern designs, but you can find or even order custom speakers with antique wooden bodies.  But to facilitate the delicate wood, these usually don’t provide rich bass sounds like their counterparts.  Plus speakers that focus more on visual aesthetic usually don’t offer the same high sound quality.  Which means you could be sacrificing an awful lot, for expensive but lackluster speakers.

The best thing to do, no matter which speaker type is important to you, is try the speakers before you buy them.  To get the best speakers for the way you’ll typically use them, you have to test drive each model that you’re interested in.  Most electronics stores will allow you to do this, and have dedicated sections where you can test different speaker set ups.  Always bring along your own music, either via an mp3 player like your iPod, or a CD.  With either they will be able to set up the unit so that you can test out the speakers with music you’ll be listening to the most.

It’s very important to test speakers out, because each speaker type produces a different quality sound.  Some speakers are intended for music with a prominent deep bass sound.  This is ideal for rock, rap, and most electronic music, but for anything classical or country where less bass is used, those speakers won’t produce as high quality of sound.  Also be sure to visually check the quality of the speakers in question.  Every speaker should have a solid body, to ensure prolonged life and use.  Also make sure that all connectors are made from high quality metals, so that you can ensure they work for as long as possible, without a problem.

To purchase the best speakers possible, an electronics specialist is best.  You can find some speaker options at a department store like Walmart or Target, and even Kmart.  However, these usually aren’t built to last, and will break down over time more quickly than high quality speakers.  Remember that when it comes to stereos, you get what you pay for.  So if you purchase a cheap $80 set of bookshelf speakers, don’t be surprised if they don’t last for very long.  To really get a high quality set, you’ll have to be prepared to spend into the hundreds, and maybe even thousands of dollars.
